FAQ

Mineral wool FAQ

Clear answers about product properties, documentation, selection and ordering Eurowool insulation.

What does reaction to fire class A1 mean?

A1 is the highest reaction to fire class in the European classification system for construction products. Always confirm the classification of the specific product in its technical datasheet or Declaration of Performance.

What is the difference between glass wool and stone wool?

Glass wool is lightweight and flexible, making it easy to fit in pitched roofs and framed structures. Stone wool slabs are more rigid and are used, among other applications, for external wall insulation. The right choice depends on the building element and the specific product datasheet.

What does λD mean?

Declared thermal conductivity, λD, describes a material’s ability to conduct heat. A lower value means better insulation at the same thickness, but selection must also take account of the thermal resistance of the whole layer.

Where can I find product documents?

Current technical datasheets and available declarations can be found in Documents and on the individual product pages. If a document is missing, request it using the contact form.

How does the roll or pack calculator work?

The calculator divides the required area or volume by the coverage or volume of the selected variant and rounds up to a whole roll or pack. The result is indicative and does not include an allowance for cutting waste.

Can I ask for help choosing a product?

Yes. Select “Product selection” in the contact form and describe the building element, area and planned insulation thickness. The final choice must comply with the building design.

How should mineral wool be stored?

Protect the material from rain, moisture and damage to its packaging. Store it on a stable surface and follow the information on the packaging and in the manufacturer’s documentation.

Does Eurowool work with distributors?

Yes. Wholesalers and builders’ merchants interested in working with us can select “Distribution partnership” in the contact form.
